Activity Ideas
- Sing with your child. You do not have to be a professional singer for this to benefit your child’s learning. You can sing along with the radio, the television, a book, any children’s songs you might remember from your childhood, or even just humming a tune you made up yourself.
- Listen to music with your child. We have been exploring different genres of music in class, but it might be fun for you to take turns pulling up a favorite song of the parent/guardian and a favorite song of the child. This is an excellent chance for you to share your favorite memories with your child while they can also express some of their favorites as well!
- Music is an excellent way for communities to bond and come together, especially in trying times like these. I think it would be fantastic if on the day the children are safely able to return to school, they could all share with me an example of a favorite song of their parents or grandparents.
