School Foundation Purpose

The purpose of the West Branch Community School District Foundation is to develop, maintain, increase and enhance educational opportunities to benefit the future focused community of learners in the school district.

The Foundation Supports

  • Innovative teaching and learning
  • Student scholarships
  • Capital projects

What’s the value of a school foundation?

  • Builds communication and new relationships within (and outside) the community
  • Raises awareness of school needs
  • Improves academic and educational opportunities for students and the community
  • Assists and supports administration and school leadership goals
  • Offers the community the opportunity to support education

Charitable Giving and Fund Raising

The Foundation also seeks and accepts tax-deductible gifts from individuals, businesses and other donors eager to improve our schools. The Foundation is managed by a volunteer board of trustees appointed by the school board. Donations will be spent for scholarships and for special needs as designated by the donor or determined by the trustees.

The WBSF is classified as a public charity under IRC Section 509(a) (2). As such, WBSF is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c) (3). Donors can deduct contributions made to the WBSF.
